At MIDO 2025 in Milan — one of the world’s largest and most influential optical and eyewear trade fairs, with over 50 years of history — the Dongtian Eyewear team closed the three-day show with 1,000,000 pairs in intended orders, positioning the company for one of its strongest opening quarters in recent years.
A 1,000-New-Style Collection Built for the Show
We did not arrive at MIDO with a sample case. Our team spent the weeks before Chinese New Year preparing more than 1,000 new styles spanning acetate sunglasses, metal optical frames, injection-molded PC sunglasses and TR90 sports frames.
The goal was simple: let buyers see the full breadth of our in-house manufacturing in one booth. Because we control four production lines — acetate, metal, PC and TR90 — plus an in-house lens workshop producing 6.5 million lenses per month, every frame on display could be quoted with a real factory price and a real lead time, not a trading-company estimate.
The Numbers Behind the Show
MIDO 2025 hosted more than 1,200 exhibitors from over 50 countries. We attended as part of the Wenzhou/Ouhai delegation of 192 eyewear companies, which together secured over USD 300 million in intended orders — a record presence for the region.
Across the delegation, average buyer visits per exhibitor rose more than 10% year-on-year, a signal that global eyewear demand is recovering and that buyers are actively re-stocking for 2026 delivery windows.
For Dongtian specifically, the 1 million pairs in intended orders came from a healthy mix: European fashion houses sourcing acetate collections, Latin American distributors ordering PC and TR90 sunglasses programs, and North American buyers focused on ready-stock replenishment.
From Show Floor to Production Line
As our general manager put it on the way from Milan to follow-up meetings in the United States: “The moment orders are booked at the show, our factory is already ramping up production.”

- Mixed materials and premium finishes — metal-plus-acetate constructions and high-end titanium, which we produce for brand customers seeking higher price points.
